The water moves down through the tank and enters a stainless steel exposure chamber containing the UV bulb. The water is then forced to pass near the UV bulb, and this causes the bacteria to be destroyed immediately. After the water moves up to the top of the stainless steel exposure chamber and passes from the unit, it is ready for drinking.
